perhaps its the notion of spring, the tips of the green leaves that are piercing through the ground hinting that the bulbs i planted last fall are indeed alive. but i can’t get enough of formal garden hedges. their shapes and design are so whimsical and though they look formal, i see them as humorous and happy.

send an ehug to morran, though she’s got the best camilla caretaker already, hugs are always lovely.

happy valentines day everyone! a few days ago, i found this lovely surprise in the mail for me, a print from one of my very favorite artists (and many of you would agree) camilla! i’ve been looking for just the right frame, i feel so lucky! and quite fitting for heart day, is it not? (wink wink)
i’m also enjoying some cute little treats from joining up in round three of gifty. thank you hope!
there is a hint of something special from m, but since he’s not awake yet i’ll just have to wait. last night, max couldn’t wait and showed his handmade card to his daddy. too cute for words i must say.
p.s. red roses.

i would love to hang a few black forest dinner plates on our dining room wall, everything at clio is so beautiful. have i mentioned them before? probably.
i hope marco doesn’t mind me sharing some of his pictures taken of projected slides, i’ve looked through every single one to enhance my daydreams for this summer. (something i know andrea will appreciate too!) how can you italians stand living in such a beautiful country? (grin)
and beautiful, soft melodies by lise westzynthius accompany drawing quite nicely.

my computer was sick in the shop for a few days, it’s amazing how productive i was without it…so i’m just getting to my email if any of you are wondering where i’ve been.
an editor from the new york times approached me about having one of my portraits published! it will be in a big collage which will run this sunday or next sunday. can anyone get me a copy? which reminds me that i need to return my agency in a few days with a photo of me to keep on file. i need specifics. do they want a headshot? should i give them zoolander’s blue steel? hopefully all this will help me shed some of the self conscience layers i have. sometimes i feel like i have ten winter coats zipped up to my nose!
in other exciting news, airline tickets to italy have been purchased (with extra days in rome with my mom!) and the dream is feeling more tangible. pinch me! i think those coins i threw in the trevi fountain with the wish to return again soon *did* work! pinch me again.

Once conform, once do what others do because they do it, and a kind of lethargy steals over all the finer senses of the soul. ~Michel Eyquem de Montaigne
i’m in the process of convincing marcus to ditch the office for the afternoon and take off somewhere with max and i. the sun is out and it seems hardly like
january february so some early weekend festivities are in order!

there’s a game of tag going on right now, and two beautiful women say it’s my turn! i’m in the mood for something lighthearted.
