meanwhile, back here in montevideo…i’ve been curling up in front of a roaring fire every single night. reading, listening to music, contemplating and planning more adventures.
i wanted to thank you for indulging me as i’ve shared photos from my travels. i have many more pictures (say yes to extra memory cards) which i’m sure will probably show up around here later. but next week i’ll resume with regular posting.
um wait, what is that exactly?
hmm. i guess the focus of my blog has been on my mind lately. just what is it that gets me fired up to share things online, on a regular basis, with friends and strangers alike?
i think i’ve got it. i like writing about why i believe life is beautiful. and how it can be beautiful. the subject may not be as popular as the hottest design craze, or how to craft that perfect japanese toy or cute apron, or the latest tech news, etc…but it’s what gets me wanting to blog. i hope you find something from this place too. without you, it simply wouldn’t exist!
so i’ll see you next week with that in mind…
besitos, j.

The only reason to blog, really — I completely agree. xoxoxox
Hi Jenny!
That photo is so welcoming and tempting. We are approaching HOT summer here in AZ but that fire still looks cozy to me.
Hey just found this site and blog that I thought you might enjoy too. She reminds me of your sensibilities as well.

Greetings to you down in Montevideo. I’m busy caring for my very ailing cat (she has a feeding tube) and tiling my bathroom all by myself..it’s fun! I chose very simple white matte tiles and one glossy border. I think of you often when I make choices–my creative WWJD (what would Jenny Do?) . Sorry if that sounds inappropriate…you’re just often on my mind as I’m in that creative/home mode. Cheers friend!
OH MY GOODNESS! I just published my comment, looked who’d commented above me and realized it was the VERY PERSON from the website I just shared. I swear I did not find her blog through your blog! Isn’t that awesome! I found it on another search completely. Don’t you love it when synchronicity happens like that? I had no idea you were already connected…NO IDEA! WOW!
Just one more thing. I found Posie’s site by googling “cat cupcake” as I’m intending to make some cupcakes for my Vet’s office and want to put kitty faces on them. Somehow it brought up an image from Posie’s blog of a cupcake and voila..there i was. Isn’t that so cool? I know you’re gonna love it. I love how connected we as human beings can be…even all over the world. WOW.
kathy, you have me busting up in laughter over here. i do love alicia’s beautiful world, so nice of you to mention her to me. she has been one of my favorite blog reads for a long time. (alicia, did you know that? grin)
and that ‘what would jenny do’ just cracks me up, really. almost as much as your googling “cat cupcake.” kinda makes me wonder what things people google when they accidentally find my blog. teehee.
enjoy that sunshine in arizona and hope that cat of yours feels better soon, xo
I just went to share this story on Alicia’s blog and realized the post right above mine was from YOU. I feel like the cream inside a brilliant, feminine, inspired, genius laden Oreo right now! Isn’t life amazing! And on your entry about how life is beautiful..wow. You guys have made my day/week/month/year so far this morning! (it’s been a trying time lately but you little angels just woke me right up).
Glad you like the WWJD. I’m serious! I sit there in Home Depot thinking “which tile would Jenny choose”? You are like my own personal Rachel Ashwell in my head! But better! :D
Hi Jenny! Your blog is an inspiration to me (I have to get mine going again-it’s been neglected for too long). I love reading about your travels and adventure here, where it’s like a supplement to your beautiful photos on flickr!
Hope you are enjoying wintertime in Uruguay. Here in Michigan it’s been a bit brisk, reminiscent of autumn days, but with blooming flowers and budding trees. I just returned from Marco Island, FL where it was so warm that I actually welcome the cool weather we are having here.
Enjoy the warm fire and cool weather… :)
to beauty indeed my friend! thank you for sharing your world:)
ercy, it’s so nice to have flickr pals reading here, i would love a revival to your spot on the web too. i’ve been in the detroit area for a few winters, when i was little, i rememeber how bitterly cold it could get and also how humid too…
mati, to beauty!
Thanks for sharing a bit of life’s beauty with us….It really is so nice to have something so lovely to read and look at!
the most beautiful reason to blog!!!
I love your beautiful view :)
thankyou for sharing beautiful things. hello from scotland!
Oh Jenny, I visit here for so many reasons. When life is speeding by, I like to pop on over here as it reminds me to stop to notice the day’s details. Your photos are always gorgeous, but what intrigues me most, I think, is your writing. So keep it coming! =)
the perfect reason – I’m looking forward to hearing about your beautiful view on life.
you have posted so much since i last visited! i enjoyed the visit to ciudad del este and i can totally imagine how scary it could be, asuncion wasn’t as dangerous when i visited {many years ago} but i still felt scared.
the main reason to blog, my friend.
