there are a few ways to get up to the top of corcovado mountain, but the most charming way is by train. it was also the same way that the huge slabs of stone were brought up the mountain when the christ statue was built, and the only route that you can hear and dance to some samba!
these guys jumped into the train at a quick stop about halfway up, passing out instruments to passengers, with contagious happy songs that were impossible not to shake some shoulders at. we went straight through the heart of the tijuca tropical forest, with breathtaking views along the way.
