so i haven’t been inside much, lately. the weather is just too glorious, which makes missing my favorite season of autumn back at home easy to bear. when i am inside, it’s to get a cold drink and a book to take back outside with me…
today after a short sunday nap, i woke up with my tummy telling me that i absolutely MUST have dessert after dinner but i knew my cupboards were on the empty side. so though i can hardly even call this a recipe since it only involved three ingredients, it was just what my sweet tooth wanted.

in italy, they have nutella. in the the states, you’ve got peanut butter. but in argentina, (and uruguay! don’t forget uruguay!) we’ve got the best dulce de leche there is. and it comes in plentiful jars, available everywhere. all i did was heat some up (ok, the whole jar) in the bottom of a large pot with a bit of butter on really low heat. then i stirred in the popped popcorn taking out the kernels first and poured into dishes. oh so easy… but my husband would never know that!

so i get extra kiss-the-cook points and a great treat to gobble up in bed while we have our house season three marathon tonight. i’m so addicted to this show and that’s saying a lot for me… usually by the next season of anything i lose interest and i’m out.

That looks so delicious! I’m going to have to look for that dulce de leche..
i was just dreaming of caramel corn…. how on earth did you know? dulce de leche looks better, though…
xo
dave says that for us, argentineans, anything with dulce de leche goes, even if it is a piece of bread, and he is right. that pochoclo/popcorn looks sooo good to me, much better than a piece of bread.
true, dulce de leche goes on everything! if you make it with pochoclo: it’s waaay better hot off the stove! :0)
