vintage sparkle

color me sparkley

One of my favorite places to mine for jewelry is the Fremont Vintage Mall.  I have to admit that I usually run out of time to look at much else there because I spend so much of it pointing out things to look at behind the glass cabinets!  Last week I was there (again) and picked up three very beautiful rhinestone necklaces, all ranging between 12.00-18.00 dollars each.  What a steal.  They are in perfect condition and have the most wonderful geometric shapes to them.

I rushed home and excitedly arranged them to be worn together all at once as a single necklace, but in an adjustable way: sometimes varying the lengths, or hanging the pendant designs asymmetrically, or all lined up.  I actually think it needs a few more layers worn with it – call me crazy but the thicker the layering gets, the more casual it looks to me.  Now, don’t hold me to that as a hard and fast rule of jewelry, it definitely depends on the rest of the look and what other types of accessories are being worn, etc.  But for this set I think it will be all about versatility and purposefully wearing it on non-occasions.  I’ll probably end up mixing them with some chains too, I’m excited about the possibilities.

They are quite sparkly, which I love for any old day with no special occasion planned.  I don’t believe in saving everything pretty for some occasion Someday. Because Someday never comes!
