an idea for small space storage: simply add a tension rod into an area that you want to display your gems (doesn’t even have to be a closet!) and then with a dab of glue starting at one end, wrap a pretty length of ribbon onto it. once that’s done, necklaces and bracelets can be clasped around your new display and be out of the box like decor, making it easier to find what you want to wear. there’s also little cupboard pulls shown on this wall, which would be so easy to attach to any area you want and great for cuffs and bangles. you could have a lot of fun finding different looking pulls, or match them all in a row for a clean look. more jewelry tips here.

i tore this image out of this month’s elle argentina…and it got the wheels turning even though the article wasn’t about jewelry or storage.  the walls remind me of my college apartment closet that i painted this exact color.  i tell you, waking up to get dressed on even the most dismal mornings were so much better met with that bright aqua.

and look what else is in this issue: coverage from buenos aires fashion week! see lovely readers? you got a first look even before the magazines could, smile.  i wanted to share one last thing about this season’s shows, but day 2 i forgot the battery in my camera, can you believe that? so elle helps me out with a picture of a detail that just tickled me.  yards of black ribbon were strewn about the runway at vicki otero for the models to follow in semi-circles and curls, faces were painted to match with tiny black lines on cheekbones. mmm, details, i love them!

i just love this idea for displaying your jewelry…i wish i had a better quality picture for you, but it’s a really small image i clipped from a scandinavian magazine sent from astrid. as an heiress to her family’s iconic fashion house, margherita missoni must have quite the collection of jewels, but her whimsical way of hanging them on a radiator is so casual and ingenious. you can see everything out and they hang nicely in a room (just as long as the heat isn’t on!)

look for more tips soon, i just adding a new category for sharing them with you!
