there is no escaping the tango in buenos aires. it’s said to be as old as men and born with the first pain of the soul. though admittedly i’m not one of the thousands drawn to the city just to dance or admire the tango, i absolutely adore hearing carlitos sing. carlos gardel was the first to put lyrics to the melancholy music of tango, and his essence is positively irresistible.  he is the singer that sounds better every day. some even refer to him in the present tense, as if he is still alive. swoon.
